BACKGROUND

The RISE Scientific Administrative Core (SAC) provides overall scientific leadership and administration, fiscal oversight, communication between the 2 Cores and 3 Projects in RISE. The SAC is led by the Multiple Principal Investigators (MPls) Drs. Grace John-Stewart, Kate Powis, Andrew Prendergast, and Dalton Wamalwa. The MPls work together to oversee scientific, administrative, fiscal and implementation activities for the Projects and Cores. The SAC works with the Data Management and Analysis Core (DMAC) and Dissemination and Engagement Core (DEC) to provide shared resources to Projects and to support effective implementation of the research.


OBJECTIVES

The SAC has the following Broad Long-Range Objectives:

1) To provide scientific oversight to the 3 research Projects and 2 Cores.

2) To promote collaboration between the Projects and Cores.

3) To convene MPI and team meetings, yearly in-person consortium meetings in study site countries (Botswana, Kenya and Zimbabwe.

4) To oversee allocation of resources and fiscal accountability.

5) To provide input on administration, training, and dissemination for Projects/Cores.
